Fast Swap Between 3.70 and 3.55 using ProgSkeet & 2 HDDs

For those with a functional ProgSkeet (or similar) setup: You too can now easily swap between CFW 3.55 and OFW 3.70 following DiGiTaL AnGeL's "fast-swap" tutorial. DiGiTaL AnGeL's tutorial assumes you have a soldered and working chip that is able to read/write the PS3 NOR flash memory. DiGiTaL AnGeL (and Dashhacks) also assume zero responsibility if you damage or render your PS3 a useless brick. What you need

PS3 Slim running OFW 3.70
2 Hard Disk Drives (HDD)
ProgSkeet installed and working on your PS3 Slim
Downgrade.bin edited with your personal data (SEE HERE)
3.55 Downgrade Dongle to perform the downgrade process
Sony OFW 3.70 UPDATE (DOWNLOAD)
CFW 3.55 KMEAW NO CHECK by dospiedra (DOWNLOAD)
Lv2Diag by Jaicrab (DOWNLOAD)
Lv2Diag FILE 2? to get out of Service/Factory Mode (DOWNLOAD)

I agree with Chris a hack is a hack no matter if it is hardware or software. I mean you don't see 360 users complaining about having to open their system and either jtag it or flashing the dvd drive firmware which requires them to cut voltage wires to the drive and using probes to grab a drive key. Now granted this is a more sophisticated hack but what they are showing you is this can be done. Any progress made on hacking the ps3 whatever the hack may be it is still one step closer to bringing ps3 hacking out of its slump.

If it wasn't for these type of people then you would have no ps3 with cfw on it.These are all contributions made by people all over the world in hopes of giving the general public something most of them don't deserve and will abuse. So instead of complaining about it maybe you should be grateful they are even allowing you to take a look at their work. It takes a lot of audacity to sit behind a computer screen complaining about someone showing you something they did with their ps3. Who died and made you the PS3 police?

Yes inexperienced people could break their console doing this as it does require knowledge of micro soldering and a steady hand but personally hats off to this guy for having the balls and technique to pull this off. It was no easy task. And before you ask yes I can micro solder but no I do not feel I have enough experience doing it to try this out.

Oh but if you can bring a PS3 back from a YLOD then you could try this out for around 25 bucks for a ylod ps3.

It is better to buy another ps3 because of several reasons. I can buy another Ps3 in ebay ($150) with a cheap price for online. compare to ProgSkeet is about $69.99 or more plus another HDD about $40 that make. Then I need to buy Dongle about $50 or more, that make $159 ( minus $9 can have a fat ps3 :>). I need to open my ps3 to do it ( I do not want to mess with the main board, because it is easy to destroy my ps3). may be progskeet is only for 3.70 ( not for 3.71 or above). I think progskeet is only for people want to know about hacking a system ( not for gaming person) or it can help a soft-mod in a future:>. Anyway, it is a great new to anyone want to have CFW 3.55

Actually it probably will after since progskeet uses hardware to write to the NAND, so the only way to fix it is a new model. Kinda like a pandora battery for PS3.
