Cobra USB Firmware v3.2 Released

Submitted by greg; September 05, 2011

Get your Cobra and get updated... The crew behind Cobra USB -- the popular 3.41/3.55 jailbreak dongle -- just released firmware version 3.2. It packs some worthwhile updates, namely when it comes to jamming PS2 titles. Cobra Firmware v3.2
  • Added support for PS2 optical disc (CD-R/DVD+-R) backups
  • PS2 original games are now region free.
  • Fixed a bug that caused incompatibility with several PS2 backups in ISO format.
  • Fixed some remaining PAL/NTSC problems for PSX games.
  • Cobra USB Manager will now output a mds file too when dumping a dual layer DVD or PS2-DVD. This file is not used by Cobra at all, but it can be used for burning a dual layer DVD+-R while keeping the original layer structure intact. This is mandatory when burning dual layer PS2 DVD's.
You can download the latest Cobra firmware via the source. - source: cobra-usb.com

why people buy cobra USB for $48.00. Just save this money to buy psx or ps2. It is better. You also save $48.00 to buy another ps3 to play PSN, If you want to play online. Do that you can support Sony, and they have more money to make more great games. Why people buy cobra to support hacker who make money just like Sony, because they do not let us clone their USB ( they are just like Sony who also do not let us to play free game).

really! I have 3 60gb ps3s 2 are jailbroken and one for online and still cant play all of my ps2 games from a hard drive yet. Except for my softmodded ps2 but it would be cool to play some of these in 1080p ;)

After I updated to 3.2, my stick doesnt longer work (cobra light turns on and off again and again and ps3 doesnt boot into jailbreakmode) Maybe wait few days with an update and if no more ppl got the same problem, then u can update. I hope I get an RMA ticket. But get a new one will take weeks of waiting :(

How do PS2 backups play it with in reality? Any issues? All games work smoothly?

Ehr, you can't do it (in 1080p) even on your PS3, AFAIK.

anyways, i've never been into this cobra usb thingy but I think this dudes really had some thing to give in with the ps3 scene and hopefully they find a way on prolonging this scene though the usb is a bit pricy for its feature.

I can understand if it's 10-15 dollars, but 48? That's a bit harsh.

I almost thought you were a scammer trying to sneak in to the conversation and post links to junk websites.  I checked out the website and wow, if thats a real cobra usb then i might get one.

Of course you have a few weeks to wait but who cares, just play MW2/BO online till it comes in.

Good for you.  Now take those sun glasses off and stop smiling like you just ate a pile of shit.  Also, drive your car into a bridge and die in a fire.
