I'm going to tell you people the truth. We're all going to lose this case. All companies are linked with the Government somehow and will be fully backed up by the judge cause the judge is in on it. I mean come on. What about the time when people were fighting Obama about the Health care shit. they went to court and who won? Obama...not to mention like 85% of Americans didn't even want that shit that Obama keeps pushing on people. Sorry to break all of your balls guys. just looking at it the way it's been since the Obama capades.

the austrailian courts have confiscated all psjailbrake dongles.. as a last ditch effort these peopl threw a couple sticks over the fence before the cops raided.. the sent a couple to cloners and big homebrewers.. that is where xsjailbreak came from.. and soon another one as cheap or cheaper.. it is not a pandora battery but a dongle to create an error on the usb port

This is just a electronic numb-nuts not any Obama Health court hearing. Sony will keep paying the courts a sizable amount of money which the courts will drool over and be happy to extend the hearing continuously until Sony BUYS themselves enough time to destroy this devices use in future updates. Done and dusted.

If you choose to NEVER update and NEVER go online then I guess this is a good solution but new games can and will force updates. This hole can be considered patched I think, either someone releases something more accessible or a new work around is found.

if you can boot unsigned code thats the end of any update fix for sony!

if a game wants to force a update just delete/patch that crap from the game as it can run unsigned code

if a new game needs a new feature from 3.42+ then patch the fw as needed if it can boot unsigned code

It probably has to do with the reverse engineering part in the user agreement and Sony will probably win.

For $160 buck it isn't worth buying something that Sony can block then you have to wait for them to update the firmware on the dongle then Sony blocks it then wait again and keep repeating until the PS3s life span is over.

With how the iPhone worked if a commercial company sold hardware that automatically unlocked it they would get sued by Apple. This mod chip company will loose because this is a commercial product that a company is trying to make money off of. The iPhone doesn't require any special hardware and your not paying anyone to do it unless you don't know how to do it yourself and don't know how to read instructions online.

I really hope Sony lose that way oz mods et al can then sue Sony for loss of business! Imagine the number of orders they have refunded due to this and the fact more ppl are cancelling their orders cos they would save money buying the clones.

Not to mention the non-refundable fees ozmods have to pay to accept credit card payments, so that's 2-3% lost, and if they are really unlucky their bank might even charge another 2-3% for issuing the refund! So thats almost a 6% loss!

PSjailbreak probably could have also if they hadnt delayed shipments. But ozmods most likely will have grounds to sue Sony if Sony loses.

Also, even though the PS Mod Chip cost to much , its worth buying because its a true product. Some of the "cloners" sell them cheap, but it wont be completely done because they would need more money todo things, and to pay all those off they would need to either cut back on some parts, or boost the price up.

It'll be just as on the PSP as long as people have interest in it a custom firmware will pop up, and will be mantained as long as there is interest in the machine... you can see on the PSP that the interest has died of and there is no customfirmware support for the new PSP firmware...

Mark these days as they are the start for the PS3, no matter if sony win of loose. Anyone with an interest for this would be able to get one of these devices, and it's just a matter of time before custom firmware is developed, where you wont even need the dongle, other than to install it on a new PS3.

Soon the Bluray firware will be cracked wide open aswell. And that would be something that sony cannot protect themself against.

Would I run homebrew on my PS3? Sure, I'm longing for a proper media center application on the system, something that can run games aswel, and can replace the current xrossbar...

Right Sony doesn't want piracy DUH!!! I'm saying the only reason Sony could sue them is because they were selling it instead of giving it away for free. If you give it away for free and aren't making a profit off of it then you don't violate Sony's user agreement of reverse engineering and making a profit off of it.

I found your article on %blogtitle% very interesting. I know a number of people who enjoy ripping their DVDs into MP4 or some other format so they can store them on their PC hard drives. One of the ongoing complaints I hear from them is the amount of time required to re-encode a movie into a format they can actually store on disk. Another is that they really don’t care about many of the DVD “extras” (language options, etc.) and hate the fact that they’re stuck with storing this info on disk as well.
