PS3 Firmware 4.25 Inbound With A Goodie For PS+ Users

A day after its routine maintenance on the PlayStation Network, PlayStation US and EU have both announced on their respective blogs, that the 4.25 firmware update will be available tomorrow. The main feature being advertised is that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to take advantage of increased savedata storage space in the cloud, seeing a boost from 150MB to 1 GB. That is all that was announced for this update. However, the guys at Sony have been known to toss in additional hidden features and changes in the past, so keep your eyes peeled. We will only be able to find that out once the firmware is downloaded and running on our consoles.
You know when the firmware becomes available, we will be sure to let you guys know. In the meanwhile, you can grab yourself a subscription to PlayStation Plus if you don't already have one.

How do you mean PSN FORCED you to update.
YOUR THE ONE THAT HAS TO MANUALLY DOWNLOAD THE UPDATE THEN INSTALL IT, SO NO, PSN DID NOT FORCE YOU TO UPDATE.
IVE HAD MY PS3 CONNECTED ONLINE WHILE RUNNING 3.55 SINCE DAY ONE, AND NEVER HAS MY PS3 FORCED ME TO UPDATE.
DONT BLAME OTHERS FOR YOUR STUPIDITY!!!

NO it dont force you to update.
if it did, you would see when you turn your ps3 on, that it will automatically update to the latest firmware.
BUT WAIT, IT DONT, IT SAYS YOU NEED TO UPDATE, THEN YOU MUST GO THROUGH THE UPDATE PROCESS.
everyone who owns a sony product knows this, but you, if you think it forces you, look the word forced, its not forced if you have the option not to do so

Anyway, the new firmware doesn't suck as much as the others do.
I'm not a Plus member myself though.
On a side note. I would love to see a new custom firmware soon. That'd be so great.
I can't believe there hasn't been one since 3.55 or something.
But I'm telling you, this is going to be my last playstation.
From now on, it's Ouya, the Steam Box and possibly Wii U.

PSN doesn't force you to update. You have a choice to update or not. If you want to get on PSN, you HAVE to update. Otherwise, like me, you just basically ignore it. And the only thing that force you to update is if you attempted to play any game that require higher firmware than 3.60.

even if you insert a game on a higher firmware, it still doesnt force update your ps3.
it tells you the game requires that firmware and you still have the option to cancel.
idiots who say im new for pointing out to the actual idiots, that sony do not force update your ps3, idiots like this should stop trying to blame sony for their feck up, its them not sony that downloaded and updated their ps3.
i just wonder if this was another idiot who thinks he should be allowed to pirate games and play online, which everyone knows that online is not possible with 3.55, even using feckpsn, it still gets blocked, so its best to decide which you want, free games, or online, if you want online then buy the game.

if you want to play newer games or play online (without going through complicated steps), you ARE forced to update.
having something crippled artificially (i say artificial because it's a deliberate created by sony and in no way necessary)goes under the heading of FORCED in my books, and by the other people's comments I'd say they agree.
