PS3 Firmware 4.21 Released, It's Totally Optional

Submitted by Demonchild; July 05, 2012

The holidays are over in the United States, so we can finally give some attention to our consoles that were deserted during yesterday's festivities. While we weren't looking, Sony has released a new firmware update for the PS3.

The PS3 4.21 firmware update that was pushed yesterday is an optional one. According to Sony, it was released to improve "System Stability." That's mostly about it. As it's a fresh update, it'll be a while before the Easter Eggs if any, are lurking around in the update as well as seeing if the spoofers made for 4.20 will still work.

Firmware 4.21 is live, so you can grab it via Network Update or from the PlayStation Blog.
