PS3 Firmware 3.73 Released

Direct from Sony: PS3 Firmware Update 3.73. What's new? Not a hell of a lot... Well, other than this: Playback quality during use of some PlayStation 3 format software has been improved. No surprise there. And there is probably more behind the scenes, which Sony doesn't want you to know about. So... Big whoop, wanna fight about it?

it didn't even notify me there was an update available, I got on, was logged in to PSN and played Black Ops with my brother for an hour, then updated

lets face it the ps3 hacking scene is dead!! and before anyone says anything i mean that for cfw its always this person has done this or so n so is waiting for sony to pick there arse that little bit more and relise a new update before they bring there imaginary cfw out, the only ppl that made a diff now work for sony! so if anyones got a good reply to this i would love to see it + nice look 2 the site

This is an optional firmware update, so i'm not sure that any major exploits were fixed, otherwise i think that Sony would have made it a mandatory firmware update.

I USED to be a huge fan of Sony and their amazing game systems, but this crap with new updates every week is getting old, and the updates never really seem to update anything worthwhile.  I waited a LONG time on 3.56 because I figured someone would come out with a way to jailbreak it, but that never happened.


The whole key-combo menu was a sham, and fell apart really quick.  Bottom line, is that if your on 3.56 or newer OFW, just go ahead and update.  Realistically, there will never be a jailbreak for anything newer than 3.55, and by the time one DOES appear, if ever, it wont matter, you will already be using your disc-based games like your supposed to, because that's the only way to do it.


Just update, and dont waste your time waiting for something that probably wont happen.  Im not being pessimistic, but realistic.

You might not wanna do that, I've upgraded from 3.55 to 3.72 two weeks ago, and now my br-drive is fucked up. I should mention I've un-cracked it in the safest way (Recovery->restore database,[...]-> restore to ofw 3.55-> update to 3.72)

Lets face it hacking isn't dead but the PS3 sure is. Sony has all the hallmarks of a company on the run and desparate 4 ca$h. Online passes, offline passes, season passes, day 1 dlc and so on ad nauseum. We all know about the mindless DRM stripping away our legal rights and their horde of rabid fanboys who are sonys mouthpiece since sony themselves stonewall on pretty much everything. The writings been on the wall a long time, Playstations time has passed, it will be missed Sony won't be.

One for sure, sony lost their out of touch from people the moment the servers were hacked.These updates are just to depressed for the end users. 


People play games for fun and we should have fun at the end of the day. If the user  pays "buys" the console is his property no matter what. A user may prefer one CFW and one OFW it's the right he owns.


Having 2 play stations and playing around is the users mind illusion that makes him happy and fun during those moments.


Most employees that work at sony they do it for a living, but hackers they do it for free and that is a big difference .


You can not compete with hackers no matter how strong you are, Because they are different , they don't sleep, eat, drink, talk, socialize etc like other people, they fight for the challenge no matter how far that challenge will be. Their Dna differs a lot, they are not humans in a way , they are the actual machine.They are always hungry for a challenge.Serious hackers don't think like most people do, say like having a luxury life , or hey a want to get married with that chic , or i want to buy this car, OR dream to have a good life, YOU ARE WRONG.!!!!!!!!................................................................ They do it all for you, and that is what makes them special..


The moment you say I want to be a hacker, that is the moment that you really are infected by it, because you are, but you just don't know it yet.


Most people talk rubbish at the end of the day , but hey that's what makes us human, is it. So we struggle every day , every night and for what!!


The moment you thought of that idea , that is the moment that it did really happened, but you don't wanna believe in it, why is that...


As soon as your mind starts seeing things different form other prospective, and you start really seeing things different way , than you know that something is happening , and you still doubt..


So can you tell the difference  between the real life and the fake life..
