PS3 Custom Firmware 3.55 with PSN Access Released

The PS3 Italian -- PS3ITA -- crew have upped and released a new custom firmware with PSN access enabled. No more fuckPsn for now -- just patch and flash the firmware PUP and you're laughing ... laughing until Sony finds and bans you. That said: You're flashing/using this at your own risk. The patching process is the same as any other previous custom firmware: First download OFW 3.55, download the diff patch, and apply it using "bspatch" from command line ... or use Quake's CFW GUI Patcher for Windows. The MD5 sum of the newly generated PUP should be: c82e3d857775c460a804f08b4cb33940. And if you're lazy just download the already patched PUP. Copy the patched PUP to a USB storage device under /PS3/UPDATE/ and flash via XMB System Update or the Recovery menu. How do you access the recovery menu? Like this:

Power down the PS3.
Now press and hold the power button, the system will startup and shutdown again.
Release the power button, then press & hold power again, youll hear one beep followed by two consecutive beeps.
Release power then follow the on-screen instructions.
Connect the USB device and select System Update.

It definitely works, but like brick said no one knows whether it can hide your console id or not. Using it right now and no issues at all :)!!!

Edit: I have just noticed that some games that worked with FPSN will not work with the new custom firmware i.e. kiilzone 3, Black Ops, Fight Night Champion.

Edit: Sorry about the wrong info, sony must've been fiddling around with the network and that's the reason why those games wouldn't work for me...so F Sony and the new CFW is the ish

It is Kmeaw's CFW with some added tweaks that basically make psn think that you are on the 3.56 OFW

No, you have to go back to OFW 3.55 before updating.

It's not going to come out. Since Sony's releasing 3.60 tomorrow I doubt anyone will be working on 3.56 anymore.

As far as a 3.60 CFW/downgrader, that'll happen when it happens. That's all anyone knows.

Perhaps I should have been more clear. As with any CFW you should go back to OFW before hand as the CFWs are designed to update from OFW. Updating from CFW to CFW is possible but comes with the added risk of errors and bricks.

Actually Harold is right, it just depends on the type of console you have and whether it saves the cfw fully to the nand or partially between the nand and nor flash, as well as your hdd.

This is 3.55 firmware not 3.56 and I don't think you can downgrade 3.56 to 3.55

Somehow i have psn access on my 3.55 kmeaw CFW... with no fuckpsn or anything... my ip settings are the same as they were (directed to my computer). i can sign in, play games online talk to friends the whole works... whats goin on? how cautious should i be about this? is anyone else getting this?

this is a little differant i think.. i forgot my ps was signed in all night, and before i went to bed i shut off the computer. ever since then i can connect whether my pc is on or not.. ive restarted both units plenty of times since but i still have access. I don't think that the timing for the almost same time release of CFW 3.55 with PSN Access and OFW 3.60 are irrelevant. Sony was up to the scene for the first time. But since fuckPSN works for me even with any new OFWs i'll stick with it. It works fine and protects my console id (on fuckPSN 0.6 only) from beeing banned fron PSN...

Tested working using PSN access patched PUP (3.55). Even after the update played a couple of games Black Ops, 2k 11 to download rosters... So far so good

Hi Flavio, i do have this problem. Have you managed to fix it ? It seems you went back to normal 3.55 Kmeaw ? How did you do that ? Restore mode, installed back the OFW 3.55 and then went to Kmeaw ?

OK guys, I messed up. Who can help?

I was on: 3.41 using PSJailbreak Dongle With their supplied backup manager (Worked fine).

I wanted to get rid of the Dongle so I download PS3ITA's cfw 3.55 patched PUP.

I went ahead and installed that through xmb, then I installed Herme's back up manager v1.5 through *Install Package Files.

Now: Herme's gives error: "Invalid Payload or Payload Locked", PS Jailbreak Backup Manager gives error "80029519", and my dongle of course does not work anymore now that I'm above 3.41.

What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?
