A Gory Beginning...

Hopefully a bloody end to what has been a bumpy ride in the ways of getting an R18+ game category for Australia.  The bill has recently passed The House Of Representatives, but this is only a small step in a long journey to get the gory 'gory for us Aussies.

Jason Clare (Brendan OConnors replacement as Minister for Home Affairs) stated the following, backing up the words of the one who's shoes he is now filling.

The R18+ category will inform consumers, parents and retailers about which games are not suitable for minors to play, and will prevent minors from purchasing unsuitable material."

The reforms also mean that adults are able to choose what games they play within the bounds of the law.

Once again, these are baby steps toward the ideal final product being achieved, but progress is progress.  Here's hoping nothing goes wrong while we are waiting for the next step in the bloody trail of footprints leading up to Australian R18+ games.
