Open PS2 Loader Released for Non BC PS3's

A developer over at Tortuga Cove has optimized a tutorial created by RazorX for using Open PS2 Loader on non-backward compatible PlayStation 3's. The developer, Coveman, has managed to get PS2 games running on his slim PS3. Please note that the Cobra dongle is required.
I was a bit bored today, so I decided to optimize your tutorial a bit.
- You don't need SWAP MAGIC
- You don't need any optical disc at all in your PS3
- Works on PS3 non-BC (tested on my SLIM)
I created an "Open PS2 Loader" ISO file, so you can just load it from Cobra Manager or multiMAN.
Just extract the .rar and transfer it to your internal HDD to /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO
I included the cover so you can either put it in /covers_retro/psx/SLES_806.08_COV.JPG or rename it to "Open PS2 Loader.jpg" and put it along side the ISO in PS2ISO folder.

But what many people fail to realise is that you wont be able to save on a non-BC cosnole as there will be no PS2 memory card option.

Ha! In your face, $ony! All this time, I knew they were talking rubbish about "PS3 hasn't got the hardware to run PS2 games", the reason is their programmers suck & it was all a con to make more money. Hopefully this will be included in official firmware one day, but knowing $ony they'll never do it, & PS4 won't play PS2 or PS3 either.

Is a 4.00 Jailbreak even possible? Seems like Sony has sealed the deal with hacking. Oh well guess i will stick to my hacked Wii and J-Tagged 360.

ok tested and working:D make sure to extract the file that in the .rar. because its a big file. waste a lot of time. remember extract the .rar that in the .rar to your internal.

if you read the storys on this site that you would have seen that people are speculating the true blue dongle to be a scam. however it does provide a way of playing newer games via eboot patches and "dongle". the cobra dongle as far as i know allows ps1/ps2/bdrom/bdiso/psp support and backup. so different features your choice. i would recommened either waiting pationtly for a free alternative or throw down. theres also the E3 flasher with duel booting for more in depth users.

What do you mean? I can create a ps1 and ps2 virtual memory card on my 250gb slim ps3. So I have no idea what you are talking about.

There actually is, I have a Non Backward compatible PS3 and it has an option for a PS2 memory card

I am tired of hearing you need this or that such thing to run these older PS2 games on ps3.
When will it be where you install a custom hombrew and just load the game on your ps3 normally or from backup on ps3 like the backup managers do for ps3 games.

yes... it just takes time, they will find something I think hackers are waiting for sony to drop updates for ps3 like they did with psp to get it hacked out completely again.
