Rumors suggest that the same people behind the True Blue dongle were indeed the same as the new Bluedisc team. Further rumors suggest that they stole the work of others or at least used knowledge given to them without permission. Fact is once The Three Muketeers noted the use of their work for yet another reDRM method, they decided to release their work.
Well known PS3 developer Marcan has shed some light on the subject and explained exactly what this leak means for current and future developers and the scene in general. You can find the original source linked below but it would be allot clearer if you take a look at the article at wololo.net. There you can find a simple Q&A too.

I hope we can see a software downgrader for the Ps3's that are already known to having the hardware key.
I hope they don't crack the newer Slim PS3's (500GB Models 3x) as they have new hardware keys.
There's still a volume of consoles in the wild that were released with 3.41FW from Factory or 3.55 that have been updated now to OFW 4.21+ but still have the same hardware key on the console it self. The only damage that would be released would be the elder consoles that are able to be downgraded.
We can't see a software downgrader until they exploit 3.56+ so the chances of having a downgrade for the older slims still is going to take awhile.
I'm all for hacking the older hardware Sony fucked up on... just don't ruin the PS3's lifespan with their newer model. There's no need to hack any PS3 Models that are currently being sold.

I still feel that the PS3 is not fully hacked still unless someone can re-open the Lvl 1 again which I think is where we can just install a CFW on any OFW.

-Smartphone app to control multimedia
-Better chat system
-waaaay better codec support
Implementing things like these could bring the ps3 to a new level. At least in my book.
