gunner54's CEX2DEX tool converts a dumped NOR/NAND image to a working DEX flash which would make its way back to the PS3 undergoing the operation. Gunner's tool is said to be compatible with any NOR/NAND image. Not only that, it will allow you to extract the METLDR from the image.
