Dynamic PS3 Theme Editor Released

Check this out ... and you can do it too! zembor0 makes custom dynamic theming possible with Dynamic Theme Editor for Windows -- both 32 and 64 bit versions are available.

There is a full tutorial available following the source link. You will however need a couple other things to make whatever theme your own; things like Adobe Photoshop and this NVIDIA DDS Plugin for Photoshop. And hey, if you craft something cool, send it over! I think i just might start making themes again if i can get a handle on Adobe Photoshop, i have it just know basics tho. I hope this isn't to hard to do cause i used to make PS3 themes but stopped because of dynamic themes

Quick question. I know you can buy dynamic themes, but to make your own do you need custom firmware to put them on? Sounds like a stupid question, but we all know Sony likes making extra money through MAKING you buy stuff.

I wanted to edit a few themes but this only lets you edit the themes it has not any others. It's lame if you ask me.
I want to remove the sound from the flower theme and the protection from LBP theme. I own both but the console isn't activated so I cant use them anymore.

If you want some advice, use Paint.NET, which natively supports .DDS images. When you save your .DDS, chose "DXT5 (interpolated Alpha)" with "Iterative Fit (Slowest/HQ)". These settings gives you the best quality while keeping the file size exactly like the original DDS.
