Rogero Outs 4.30 CFW v1.03 Update

Rogero's previous update to his 4.30 custom firmware has seen several additions. One of the new features was new files being included in the update, which disabled of the Cinavia protections of the firmware. Unfortunately, Rogero has detected some problems with the newly implemented feature and has decided to revert it back in this version, thus re-enabling it. In case you have missed the last update, take a look at the changelog to get caught up:

 

  • The PS3~dev_blind.zip fix is now Pre-patched in the PUP itself.
  • Fixed the bug of "Corrupted Data" on installation from Recovery encountered by some users.
  • Added the Cinavia Disabled files into the PUP.
  • Updated multiMAN to the latest 04.10.00 build in the package.
  • Added the new simple to install PlayStation home fix to the package too.

Well I'm on Rogero 4.21 and I'm happy with it, should I update to this new cfw? The risk in playing online with cfw is very high?

I think you must downgrade first to OFW 3.55. You can't downgrade without buying hardware for it. After downgrade you must Dehash/Reset Syscon Properly (I don't know what is it, but it is a requirement.

You gotta buy a hardware flasher to downgrade your console (if it came shipped with 3.55 or lower) before being able to hack your PS3.

If it's not broke, don't fix it. I doubt there are any games that require fw 4.30 as of yet.

my console was factory 3.4X firmware I had 3.55 Kmeaw for a while but then updated to OFW Im on 4.30OFW at the moment, can my console be downgraded to 3.55 without hardware? Is there a 4.30cfw that does not require to be pn 3.55? Thanks!

No, you'll need hardware to downgrade to 3.55. There is no CFW that doesn't require you to be 3.55 at this time.

Important Information:

For all of those who are on Original Firmware v3.55 or below and never downgraded.

You can install 4.30 CFW v1.03 on OFW!
I tested this with my brand new 3.15 OFW --> upgraded directly to 4.30 v1.03.

I upgraded in Recovery Mode

Slim 3.55 guy- I was on 3.55 KMEAW and updated it to Rogero 4.30 CFW. I am now able to run games tha required later OFW versions to run wthoutrequiring to patch the games. lso, am ble to access PSN,PS Store, VidZone, LoveFilm Home etc.Personally I think Rogero's custom firmware is excellent and recommend it. The only issue I have had so far was when trying to updated to 4.30 1.03. I thought I could do it by usig Recovery Menu and going straight there, but you get an error message. I think this is because the way the PS3 update process works it only updates if its a whole new version. So, the only ay to do it would be to downgrade back to 3.55 then back again there are instructions on Tortuga website. I have not bothered trying this again yet, as happy enough with 4.30 and 1.03 doesn't add that much extra to be worth the hassle of downgrading then updating again. Instead I'll hang fire for a 4.31 CFW from Rogero.

I try to update my ps3 to rogero 4.30, my ps3 is 3.55 cfw. When i start to update i take an error '' Update data of version 2.30 or later can be installed on this system'' What should i do ? :cry:
