Yeah, yeah... I'm way late on this... I'll admit at first I was reluctant to post because well, I thought it brought nothing newsworthy to the frontpage, but after a few emails (thanks Lou N Seb!) I now know this CFW lets you access PSN ... not "retail" PSN so to speak, I'm talking access to PSN dev. servers ... and yes, you can play online ... apparently there are a lot of COD players just waiting to get fragged up.
Of course you're stepping on dangerous ground by logging into PSN dev. servers. But that's on you -- you decide if it is worth the risk of a potential console and/or PSN ban.
Here is the tutorial to follow, courtesy of nextgenupdate:
- You need to install Rebug 3.55 CFW
- Now you need to set Original PSN to Dev PSN: Go to Debug Settings -> NP Environment -> Change to "sp-int"
- Now you need to start the spoof 3.60 rebug, then you will lose your Debug setting for get it back you need to install and run Cex Dex Rebug selector (it's under Package Manager, in PS3 HDD)
- Now you need to make a new account on PSN you can set everything random but the PSN ID must be the same of the account on Original PSN or COD will not load your stats (lvl, classes, ect).
- Now you need to set on your PS3 on Internet Connection Setting as Primary DNS the LOCAL IP of you PC (192.168.XXX.XXX) and as Secondary your modem IP OR "8.8.8.8"
- Start the my tool and make sure it's showing the right Local IP (192.168.XXX.XXX) then press OK.
Some of that isn't the clearest but you'll figure it out. Visit the news source below to download and learn more about Rebug CFW 3.41.2 / 3.55.1; we aren't hosting these custom firmwares at the request of cyberskunk ... and rebug.me deserves the hits for their hard work.

All unhacked consoles will be playing on consumer servers. A consumer server being a _different_ PC that they're connecting to, somewhere else on the planet.
As these servers are separate machines, you won't be networked with anyone, except those using the dev servers as well.
There are reports that there's a few hundred people playing at any given time though. So, for CoD at least, I'm sure you won't be waiting any more or less than on the consumer server.

Well you need to know that there 3 kind of PSN **known**
Prod PSN = Original one (NP)
Dev PSN = SP-INT
**Another one that doesnt matter**
And every game have 3 servers so. We will take as example "Black Ops"
If you login on Prod PSN will be : cod7-ps3-lobby.prod.demonware....
Now in this black ops server (prod) there is all legit people your ex friends and who is on 3.60 and is playing
Now if you log on Dev PSN will be : cod7-ps3-lobby.dev.demonware.n...
In this server there is NO ONE. Becouse that server is where DEV (Game's Creators) Are trying things such bug, glitch, ect,ect...
What my does actually is to say to your PS3 inside to connect on DEV Black ops server cause your are logged on PSN DEV Connect TO Prod server.
So you will be able to play with ON DEV PSN with PROD BLACK OPS/MW2/COD4

My question is will this custom firmware allow me to activate my system so that I can play my DLC/games from PSN?
I appreciate that I am running a custom firmware and I have to take the bad with the good. Is there any way to activate the system again?

I'm tired to read this stupid comments from the last page to 4th. If it really so, this topic must be on the top of discussion, but it doesn't.

Well i don't know about the developer though because this practice would also mean sony supporting pirated games.

I don't know why a 3.60 CFW is needed so badly, I know that it can prevent the hassle on newer games but I can just modify them and play them on Kmeaw.

do their work ... If they just ban your acc you can be happy...
