E3 CFW Can be Flashed On 3.56 PS3s

A lot of my readers have been wondering when we will see any kind of software hack to allow more users into the PS3 scene, and I regret to inform you that  that day is not today. However that does not mean that there aren't a bevy of hardware related options that you can use should you really want your homrbrew fix that badly. Thanks to a patch by Varicela and Luckyma, you'll now be able to flash directly to E3 4.30 firmware with the use of a hardware flasher as long as your console came with firmware on or below 3.56.

What does this mean for all of you? Well it means that those who stuck to waiting on 3.56 at least will now have the opportunity to enter our community. Secondly, should you have an applicable model, there is now no longer any kind of need to downgrade to OFW 3.55 and jailbreak before you install  your custom option. It should also be noted again that this is all about the factory installed firmware so even if you're on 4.31 OFW you can still flash this as long as your system originally came with something 3.56 or below.

Still, one caveat with this method is that it does only work for NOR consoles at this very moment, but it will be updated for NAND models soon. Want to get into CFW? Now you can do it direct to E3.
