4.3x Custom Firmware Inbound From Cobra

Team Cobra has come out of the dark to announce that they have a 4.3x+ custom firmware in the works for those still hanging onto and using their Cobra USB dongles. The team states that users will be able to enjoy the same features bought in by the dongle as well as those introduced over time between the 3.55 and whichever 4.3x firmware they decide to use as a base for their custom firmware release as well as the ability to enjoy the latest games. This is all that the team has announced on their homepage at the moment. No release date has been announced either.

It's interesting to see that Team Cobra is still trying to have a presence within the scene although they have been beaten to the punch in terms of 4.30 custom firmwares, let alone 4.xx custom firmwares. What Team Cobra will be bringing to the table, to make users upgrade and continue using their dongles will be seen in due time, if they do bring anything.

Actually, the payload of the cobra USB dongle is released, but no dev was interested int aking advantage of it and porting it to other usb devices so everyone could have a free cobra. I myself have bought one...because i wanna play my old ps2 games off HD and alike. Though it would be plain amazing if cobra would release one or two of their amazing features as open source to the scene - like the psp emulator, or simply the abillity to backup pretty much anything ^^.

In this day and age, I wouldn't want to buy a dongle. There's other 4.30 custom firmwares hanging about and I have a backwards compatible PS3 and an actual PS2 just hanging about.

ITS ABOUT TIME THEY DID SOMETHING TO UPDATE THEIR PRODUCT. A LOT OF PEOPLE BOUGHT THE COBRA USB, AND THEY AS A COMPANY NEED TO SUPPORT THEIR PRODUCT AND CUSTOMERS.

but FF7 runs in any ps3 so its all i care about :)

And two weeks later, still no release from Cobra USB team. I have sent them several emails with no response. I almost regret buying their product. Any company that will not support their product needs to close shop !!! It's sad when other writers of CFW are at 4.3X and cobra is still at 3.55. Their product was supposed to allow dumping and playback of blue-ray movies, and that does not even work !!
