Graf's Gear Gets Confiscated ... Again

Chokolo is still public enemy #1 and Sony authorities again have seized his hardware, serving graf with a temporary restraining order (TRO). Graf suggests everyone mirror his git repository and PS3/Linux tools before Sony forcibly takes 'em offline. Right now you can find his tools on git.dukio.com and at git-hacks.com. I would guess the geohot and SCEA settlement does not include the return of OtherOS if they're continuing to batter poor ol' graf over his efforts to bring Linux back. To play hardball you need leverage and/or something you can hold above the other parties head. Sony had nothing to fear from Geohot so why would he have any leverage in the deal?

Thanks to Graf for all his awesome work.And thank you as well for not bending to the will of Sony.They are obviously terrified of the 'OtherOs' feature returning to the PS3 and though Sony has gone out of their way to pressure Graf out of the hacking scene,he does not shy away and he does NOT settle with a corporation that is in the wrong.

I'm very glad to say that Graf can at least look in the mirror...and still be proud of what he sees!!!!

For anyone to suggest that Graf will give up,I think he has already shown his true colors...He's requested all users,hackers and Dev's alike,to download all his work so that it will continue.It's being downloaded by people as we speak.That doesn't sound like someone who will give in to Sony.

Sony wanted to control his work...and instead,Graf gave it to the world.That point being made,Sony has already lost.

In Spain sony lost the case to halt the sale of ps3key and had to pay suppliers damages. If you fight sony on this matter being its your ps3 and sony refer to the ps3 as computer, Well you can make changes to it just need someone to make the stand. Not give plenty of tv interviews brag about it then make a deal so they can consintrate more on the reall brain, bein graf

Geohot broke his promise and sold himself out.In the process,he hurt people by letting them believe in him.He took their money which was meant for his legal defense and instead,he settled without getting the 'OtherOs' and an apology.In the end...he helped Sony get closer to all of us.

They did collect all of our IP's when visiting his site...Think about it,people.

I'm glad there's a lot of support here; I was reading replies on other forums and there was a lot of negativity.
"He should've remained totally anonymous."
"It's for the e-fame anyways."
"His work was useless."
Etc.
But obviously those people don't know the hunger of true curiosity.
Obviously they aren't intelligent enough to know the need to learn and accomplish simply because you can, and you should have the right to.
So keep going Graf! I know that hunger, and your work allows those of us without the right knowledge or talent in this particular field to fill some of that void concerning it.

This is really the most criminalistic thing I have ever witnessed first hand I can't believe nothing is being done about this. Fuck man I think Anonymous should just hack major Sony workers like Jack Trenton and Kevin Butler psn accounts and see if they can just get all their info and start hacking through their home networks after that and what not... No if he had anything to hold against Sony that wouldn't happen is what I said but because he didn't have any power in the agreement he took the deal that involved not being able to do any PS3 work. If he had any power in the agreement on the settlement he wouldn't of given that up or at least I wouldn't of.

theres romours of sony updating the whole os becuase of the partnership with android, better web browser, running apps on the ps3 ect ect...but time will tell
I still love how folk go on about the other there wasnt really a huge demand there was a survey done and most ps3 users didnt kno it about it..and to fiar it was shit....a low end pc was better

Graf has already had a legal dispute with Sony. I am saying we should have donated to him then. Right now he owes like $1million to sony in damages. It does not matter if he lost or not, he still tries to hack, even though he does not have access to any PS3. Also, he's not working to make backup managers, he is working on linux support, which Sony vehemently does not want for some reason even though it would not damage their profits at all.

They did demand damages he has to pay 10,000 that is a slap on the wrist compared to what they could of done he didn't have shit to hold against them. They went easy cause it's good PR for them. Not to mention no you don't get jail time for this kind of stuff usually just HUGE fines. You obviously don't understand what he was actually in trouble for or how they handle copyright cases.

So they talk of jail for graf. Sending out a message hacking is wrong is the pr sony is persuing not a slap on the wrist. Copy right causes normaly result in damages and huge pay outs. so no copy cats get the idea. The US Anti-Piracy Bill Increases Penalties for Copyright Infringement read about that an educate yourself on how serious the law handles copyright cases. Clearly youve missed something
and yes you do goto jail for such activities

It would damage IBMs profit who makes Cell processors. My guess is Sony doesn't care about OtherOS one way or anthoer: IBM does and they are "loosing" money from people not buying Cell processors at double the price of a PS3 (adding the other components for the system, this means buying a PS3 to get a crippled Cell is much cheaper than buying a "regular" Cell)
