Rogero Announces PS3 CFW 4.21 Brick Fix

Submitted by Tranced_1; October 25, 2012

It seems that most PS3 models that were likely to brick include CECH-25xx with datecode 1A and a base firmware version of 3.50, a few CECH-20xx models and the model with the most bricks been CECH-25xx with datecode 1A and a base firmware version of 3.50. FAT PS3 consoles might be safe since no reports of them bricking have surfaced.

Previously I stated that you should have a NOR/NAND dump backed up should you brick. PlayStation 3 developer Rogero has released a tutorial on how to unbrick your PS3. WITHOUT the need of a NOR dump. However you will need the following hardware. A hardware flasher and a dongle with the PSGrade payload. (Lets hope you did not get rid of your CFW 3.41 jailbreak dongle, this will be used to get the PS3 in factory service mode.) Here are the steps required.

Requirements are:

  1. A hardware flasher so you can read/write to the PS3 NOR flash
  2. A Dongle with PSgrade payload (any old jailbreak dongle + PSGrade hex will do) used to Enter Factory Service Mode (FSM)
  3. Rogero CEX3.55 v3.7 PUP

You may change the title of this post, from the 1st look everyone will be confused with a possible new CFW fix for safe installation without bricking your console.

N00b question, i was one of the idiots who hastily bricked his console, and I am happy that there is a fix and all, and am aware that the e3 flasher was/is the only hope in hell to fix this but
I doubt that the flasher is n00b friendly-so I am hesitant to go buy one of these devices so...
Is there anyone in the Toronto are who would so kindly fix my ps3 FOR me?
For a fee of course..we can work out a price....somebody get back to me!!
thx
