oct0xor Making Progress With openCOBRA

It’s been a little while since we’ve mentioned oct0oer or his work on cracking the dongles so I think it’s about time for a little update on how things are coming along.  Recently oct0or has posted some interesting updates on his blog about the progress he’s making working with the Cobra dongle that came out during the dongle wars and allows the owners of the dongle to run various types of games from other systems on the PS3.

Oct0xor has been focusing on cracking the PSP emulation functionality of the dongle to get PSP games to run on the PS3. Despite the Cobra dongle being protected by some fairly decent security it is not without holes and well oct0xor has found a way to get some backups to work but there is still a ways to go before he will be ready to unveil his openCOBRA payload, so sit tight and we will do our best to keep you up to date.

It would be nice, at least someone is working on the Cobra USB, cause the COBRA TEAM ant doing jack for their own product. Be close to a month ago, when they said they were releasing new firmware, so they are lairs.
