DOStoPS3 - Convert DOS Games to PKGs

Submitted by greg; October 01, 2011

Tell me this ain't cool... Instead of waiting for someone to convert and package up your favourite DOS classics you can now do it yourself. Just download d0zs' new Windows app -- DOStoPS3 -- and follow the simple GUI. DOStoPS3 is written for Windows and makes using RoboHobo's DOSBox port much easier. Now it's just you being resourceful and locating your own DOS games (Hint: use Google ... or dig-up some old boxes in your basement). Download: DOstoPS3 - source: ps3crunch

You can find a bunch of freeware dosgames at www.dosgames.com they even have links to both Elder Scrolls Arena and Daggerfall. The site currently have 603 games listed and more are posted from time to time. So this should help those that are looking for some old gems and you may even find something you never herd of that you may like.

For the first time the game is to convert fine, but next time
When you click "start" you see this error:

What to do, how to fix the problem?

I have converted quite a few games until i got to the original Zork games. They have a .com file but show up as ms-dos. I tried Planetfall and it converted fine and it was the same way. The first 3 zorks is a no go because of the way it shows up. What i mean is i went and bought the games from GOG.com. They have _zork for the .com ms-dos file. Now you can manually type in a _ mark when you are in the folder and then choose that for the .exe file to load it up quickly. When you click open it goes back to the DOS TO PS3 program. Now you see that on change id it has this _ mark in the very front. Now what i done, I clicked on Change ID. I erased the _ mark and added a 0 at the end of it. Then i clicked Start and it worked fine! You need to add that 0 at the end or it will come up not enough characters! Hope this helps someone!!!
