(Updated) PS3 CFW 4.11? Or An Elaborate Hoax?

I don't know what to think, he does seems like an attention whore, but I do have heard from respectfull devs that a lot has been done behind the scenes, only time will tell...

Sorry but I am looking at my Tv/Video services tab on my OFW ps3. Maybe you are on an old CFW, or you need to learn how to read. It is inbetween the game and video catagories. Hope this jailbreak is real though.

Well im surprised no-one caught onto this earlier. Take a look at the recent news of Rebug's latest firmware update. It offers 4.11 spoof, PSN Access......... Penny dropping yet?? I'm definately going to sway towards fake since it all looks that way.

Not to mention the so called website he gave in the video is invitation only......cough

It's fake because:

There is no seizure warning message at the PS3 startup.  

How could he miss such an annoying message? 

I wish i knew how to Jailbreak the PS3, i would release it annoymously and not cry about it, only reason why we never see crap from the PS3 scene anymore its cause all these Jailbreakers want the world to know they Jailbroke it and then they wonder why Sony sues they ass cause they stupid and don't know how to hide crap. stop releasing fake videos and virus and play it off like they real! either be real or stop getting everyones hopes high and then crushing them.

Yes, definitely a hoax. The XMB is different when he sighed out on the PS store. The TV/video services suddenly appeared at 3.17. It wasn't there when he was running homebrews.

looks to be fake, the xmb does change from jumping outta comgenie to psn.  could be a spoof, then again may be a succesful repack of the .pup with some edits to version number... However if the initial video at the begining was using rebug it's super easy to change the title of the pup and firmware ver. number.  There may be even simple hacks to current firmware. Or like I was saying before just an edited pup and running a dongle, the video does look to be a splice.  the XMB is unmistakably wrong in the beginning of the video as compered to the end.  I've read his blog and it does sound like ramblings of a young fellow!  My grammar is horrid, but I don't think I use as well more then once in the same run-on paragraph?  For those who are bashing on Geohot, he did raise quite a stink, but he is also a credible developer.  He didn't get the keys on his own, he figured the process out as well.  He also released the first patched pup to allow package installation.  That was it though, the rest of the work on the early jailbreaks and hacks were a combined effort of several devs and teams.  As far as MrJailbreak, he may have made some discoveries and minimal hacks.  He has been very adamant to defend himself to KaKaRoTo on his twitter as well.. Even in the last several days in fact.  

I'm very green at programming, I'm still in school.  I've not attempted anything with ps3 and little on the psp.  I've released nothing because the things I have developed are on psp, and quite frankly they are old news and just learning tools.  I've spoken with KaKaRoTo on both twitter, and IRC, and I've read about the npdrm signatures online extensively, and I've read KaKaRoTo's blog explaining it as well.  From a logic stand point, I'm sure if someone who knew the ps3's coding extensively, as well as the npdrm system and spent all of their time on it.  Eventually a method would be devised to crack/disable/flood/bypass the the signature check.  I really don't think this young man has done it though.  It is a very complex system, and just does not seem worth giving up your life for no monitary gain.  My advice to the scene, is either a dongle that enables backups if thats your angle, if your into homebrew and just want a capable system, buy one second hand somewhere that is still on a firmware low enough to either downgrade, or install the patched CFW pup's and your homebrew.  While keeping a main system that is current for psn and new releases.

 My 3.55 machine is a very odd brick that I've not been able to figure out.  Everything by the LED's on the system show that it is working perfectly, bluray, card slots, usb activity, but I get no picture or sound, even when I reset the video settings to  detect.  I can't get a system restore menu, nothing... One person had mentioned that the system hardware maybe fully functional but the flash corrupt.  I'm trying to find a way to externally log the systems boot process in order to find where the flaw is..  I've just finally received a progskeet, and E3 after hunting online, I just gotta learn to use the buggers... If anyone may have an idea on what may have caused this brick... drop me a tweet @holesinhappy... all advice welcome :)
