SEGA Genesis Emulator Released - GenesisPlus GX for PS3

GenPlus-GX has been ported to the PS3! Whether you had a SEGA Genesis or Mega Drive growing up, you'll be happy to know an anonymous coder has taken EkeEke's GameCube/Wii port of Genesis Plus, rewrote whatever necessary, and has issued a test release. Emulate the SEGA Genesis on your PS3!

High Definition Graphics!

At the moment you will notice issues relating to sound and save states are disabled. Otherwise this test version features:

2 players
roms support
zip support
svp emulation for virtua racing and co

you have to have the right firmware to run this emu which is 3.41 sounds like a buffer error for code want start dont forget this is beta wait little longer and for psp emu want be released to hansi gets it running perfect sound issue at the moment ....also gorgo is the greatest than dark alex who is not here anymore r.i.p

Make sure that you have the "genplus" folder that you extract as one folder. Do not take the 4 folders (bios, roms, sram, state) out of that one. From there place the "genplus" folder on the root of your external HDD and make sure it is plugged into the last USB slot on the right. Place your roms in the roms folder, throw the .pkg file on to your USB stick and install it. Should run fine. I ran into the problem when I took the 4 folders out of the "genplus" folder, I was then presented with the same error you are having. Works great now

I get the same thing (GENESISPLUS TEST 201. 18495 FPS). If you press down you can change the numbers then it freezes and hard reset is needed. I'm on 3.41. Maybe something to do with usb folder structure. I couldn't understand it so I tried and few different variations. Instruction need to be clearer. Thanks though to the dev.

this runs great. graphix look great but the sound emu is a bit off but i guess this is a beta. will this work with the 32x games? AWESOME WORK DEVS

I can only get as far as the roms folder and there's nothing inside. I downloaded a few roms ( ending in .gen ) and nothing. Anyone any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. roms folder, nothing inside. usb on the far right. have all the roms, ending in .gen. rom folder shows as empty on the ps3. I'm going to try to throw some with a different extension on.

the manual does specifically say "This is a Sega Mega Drive / Genesis only emulator: therefore, it requires suitable ROM images in the form of .bin, .gen, .md or .smd files. "

hey guys just got mine working finally!!!(this is using an external HDD) k, do like mentioned above, extract all the files to the usb stick or external hdd, run the pkg. when you boot the emu up, notice in the top left corner the 2 little red dots?(..) just keep pressing X until you get to a menu that has "app_home, dev_flash etc and go down to "dev_usb000" and press X. from here just got to your roms folder and you're set ;) hell, it doesnt even have to say roms, tested it in a folder i have named "SEGA" and it works fine! hope this helps fellas! cheers

Does anyone know how to access the rom menu once you enter a game? I keep having to quit genplus and start it again just to access different roms.

I have 3.55 CFW geohot, and playing the streets of rage (JUE)[!], but 2 player mode is not possible. I mean, the second controller is not recognised. Any solution??
