Partnered with the tutorial below, I have created a video step by step on How To Make A Coloured PS3 Coldboot(CFW Only). Follow both these tutorials to get your PS3 as personalised as possible!
The PS3 hacking scene is not as dead as some make it out to be. Off to the side while many waste their time complaining about/supporting TB dongles, other developers like Glowball1 are keeping the scene alive with homebrew like XMB Customize.
The tutorial below will give you everything you need to create your own fully personalized/customized PS3 gameboot, and better yet put a gameboot on your PS3 Slim (if you own one).
Hope this tutorial helps out the community, and leave a comment below on what you think of the homebrew, and give Glowball1 a shoutout and a thank you for the awesome work!

I still say the Cfw scene is dead because a 4.0 CFW hasn't been done that allows everything the 3.55 does. When a 4.0 CFW is done that allows me to install all homebrew and Backup my games and lets me play all new games released when I buy them, Then I will be happy and then I will consider the scene alive once again. I don't care if I can ever go on PSN again since I never found anything good on there anyways and all that concerns me is having fun with my PS3 and all my games. That's all. Where's the newest CFW 4.0? Huh huh huh.....

Sony has "fixed" the exploits used for maken 3.55 cfw, and the necessary keys to do a cfw for any fw over 3.55 are extremely hard (if not impossible) to get.
Trust me boy, these things aren't as easy as they seems to be. So, even if the scene was "alive" (as you imagine it should be), there's a decent chance that no 4.xx cfw would exist even today.
Still, you can always buy a trueblue dongle if you want to play newer games and still use some homebrew
