Hermes Bids Farewell (Again) and Releases HManager v1.5 + Source

Submitted by greg; March 14, 2011

One of the supremes in the scene, Hermes, bids farewell again and as a parting gift he leaves HManager and the source code behind. HManager, which regretfully we've never covered, is another backup manager based on Open Manager, and is now open source. HManager of course packs its own feature set, all of which is detailed in the included readme.txt. Hermes, you've been an awesome asset to the PS3 scene and we at Dashhacks wish you the best in your future endeavours. Stay coding! Download: HManager v1.5 + Source - source: elotrolado

ah, ha! I was looking for that post. I vaguely remembered Hermes saying goodbye before, which obviously, well... wasn't the case.

No one reads anymore. Like this if you think Datalife was dropped at birth.

You cannot downgrade in firmware version 3.56, 3.60 is the latest firmware to date and is not exploitable either.

Once you updated to 3.56 you are homebrew-less, you will need to wait until someone finds away to exploit 3.56. So to answer your question; No your backups won't work, they won't ever work.

Sorry, but you should have read more carefully.

Well he's usb application was one the best and was pretty stable. He did a CFW too i think that some ppl stilll use over the newer base FW. I havent tryed he's backup manager that could be pretty stable as well. I think I'll try it later. Yes Mulitman has alot of updates but i'd take stablity over updates anyday. Craftmenship = quality my friend

Instead of saluting the guy who is one of the pioneer of the PS3 scene, devoted his time so you can play around with your PS3 you are commenting about his work being too old or somebody is better then don't FU#%^&#@ comment at all. Instead of giving him thanks you are making a stupid ass comments. Support the developers...you'll be happy with your PS3 instead of pissing them off saying their work is crap instead of complimenting...

isn't any release based on Open Manager required to be open sourced based on the license granted by the anonymous developer of Open Manager? Let's not act like Hermes did us a big favor, he should have done this when he first released the manager.

I think the clue was in the, "and as a PARTING GIFT he leaves HManager and the source code behind".

Hermes is leaving what he has for us to use or not use. You dont need to accept the gift but someone may find it useful in someway. One mans junk is another mans gold. I personally would not use this BM but there may be a coder who learns something from it and that may open up a new route to a new solution..... you never know.

Standing on the shoulders of giants is how we got to where we are today in all walks of life.

I say thanks Hermes you will be missed and always welcomed back should you chose to do so.

Oh your not using Heremes payload and you said Multiman has a bigger user base so that's not comparing?Hermes is releasing his codes so somebody else can make improvements or better yet make your lives easier playing PS3....You're the one who was dropped when you were born, they shoud just left you on the floor and never picked you up..Hermes made a manager and a payload and I've been using his since 3.41 and I bet you never used 3.41 and you jumped to 3.55....so stop crying about another codes that comes out, be happy you have more choices than less...Just my piece of #$%@ of mind...God bless you...

How did you know what my Phat PS3 was running? How did you know my slim was on 3.41?

Dude, are you like a mind reader or just assuming?

Yes, you were dropped at birth I can tell by your sentence structures and your inability to read the article.

Hmanager was never reported on PS3-Hacks only MultiMan and Rogero.

Nice try
