DRLtools Released: Restore PS3 Blu-ray Movie Playback

For your jail broken and Blu-ray (movie) busted PS3: DRLtools from Project #PS3BluRay. Everything you ought to know -- instructions & the DRLtools suite -- can be found here. It's a semi-complicated process so take your time. Good luck and enjoy the BD's!

If you do not know which Bluray contains the highest version of MKB, you can use DRLgen multiple times to view MKB_RO.inf files in your collection to find the one Blu-ray that has the highest MKB version. You can do this by "Generating DRLs" multiple times, changing the disk each time. Be sure to keep careful records of what discs are what version.

Once you have obtained the bluray that has the highest MKB version that has been played by your PS3 prior to Downgrading. Place it into your BD in your PC, select the DRL Save location in the options of DRLgen that is your USB flash/pen drive, and "Generate DRL". Note: If you are using PS3 linux, or have copied the DRL from another system with a BD drive you may select the location where you have saved the MKB_RO.inf instead of navigating to the BD.)

Try borrowing some blu rays. If you bought your PS3 a long time ago, try borrowing and old blu ray movie.

ok so what if you know the last blu ray you played? and what if you know which is the newest blu ray you played on your system??

If i understand correctly,PS3 keep highest played mkb on DRL file.so last movie is not important?I have 3 ps3 same fat (one of them ylod but i will fix soon)Is it possible to move those file to from them to downgrade one and fix this way

so i bought my fatty from gamestop as a refurb, I dont know what was played in it before I bought it, but I havent downgraded yet either. should I just find the most recent BD movie released that I can buy, play it, and then downgrade?

i got a ? ive notice when i downgraded my ps3 i looked into my update log when it was done the first thing that i saw that cot my eye was this

manufacturing updating start
PackageName = /dev_usb000/PS3UPDAT.PUP
settle polling interval success
vflash is disabled

now i came across somebody that had a downgrade that has br playback and everything works well is started like this in his update log

manufacturing updating start

why was mine disabled

i'm a newbie and going to downgrade my PS3 which is in the line of potential blue-ray playback problem. My PS3 is now running 3.50. To run "DRLbackup", it requires "Select Game -> Install Package Files from the XMB" which I suppose it is only available on a jailbroken PS3? I suppose the backup should be done before the downgrade happens. Or should i just downgrade with the new bin "e3downgrader fix BD beta.rar"? Thank you very much for your advice in advance.

.what i am about to tell you may blow your mind.please read with optimumI.i have found out how too really restore blu ray playback on ps3's.IT involves the remarrying process.you need 2 ps3's.(but programmer could fix this)the first must have blu ray playback ability.play a blu ray(this is key because you need to know the last blu ray played on the logic board)then copy the drl files from the same ps3.write them to the ps3 without blu ray playback ability which must be on firmware 2.30 ready for the remarrying process.remarry the logic board from the ps3 that does have blu ray playback too the one that does not.after running the remarry process and before you exit factory service mode to complete the remarry process you need to play a blu ray that has a higher mdk the one that was played on the ps3 with playback capabilities.THIS WILL REWRITE YOU DRL AND RESTORE BLU RAY CAPABILITIES.playing the movie is part of the remarriage process.now for the mass public programmer better than i would be able to couple the logic board flash and drl files in one download.then the person restore there ps3 would need to write the logic board flash and drls on there ps3 then run the remarriage process and play any blu ray above the last one played by ps3 which they got the flash and drls from.i have two ps3's just remarried but without blu ray play back.i am going to attempt this with a third i have to remarry.my only concern is how to write the drl files while on 2.30 firmware.i believe Linux is my best chance but i don't believe there is a jailbreak for 2.30.or that i could write it in Linux on a non jailbroken system.also devs will need to be able to write the flash to the logic board for this to be possible for the public.i hope you read this because it will work i truly believe i wrote here because i can not find a link to contact project blu ray anywhere an i hope someone who can use it will find it also anyone who know how to write the drl's on 2.30 or 2.20 or 2.10 please respond i will be search how to's and checking back frequently in hopes of response.thank you for your time and have a nice day.
