Deank Updates multiMAN & Releases A PKG Tool

Since then there have been three updates to our favourite backup manager. Version 04.11.13 introduced a function that would check the firmware version of game EBOOT's and change them according to the firmware you are running. Useful for those running CFW 4.xx.

In the next installment, version 04.12.00, Deank added full support for those running Rogero's 4.30CFW Version 2.00. This includes the new install package files within multMAN,  Direct Disc Access, PS1 Backup support, and fixed AVCHD/Blu-ray copying from the Video Column. All of which for Rogero's 4.30 CFW v2.00.

The latest version, multiMAN 04.13.00, brings additional support for those running Rogero's 4.30 CFW v2.00. This being a fix to the Hermes payload allowing 4GB+ split game files to work on external HDD. In this update Deank also includes a nifty tool called Install Package Files. This little app will allow, once again, Rogero 4.30 CFW v2.00 users, to have an alternative way to install PKG files without having to boot up multiMAN.

Also online is mM 04.13.00 with a fix for Hermes payload for Rogero 4.30CFW v2:

  • Fixed issue with Hermes payload on 4.30CEX Rogero ver 2.00
  • 4+GB split files caching from USB and "Ext. Game Data" game option now work
  • Added standalone application "* Install Package Files"
  • RELOAD.SELF from the application can be used in other homebrew tools to install PKG files via the bubble-methodInstall Package Files app works on all firmwares

This is a small handy tool for installing PKG files via the "bubble"/PSN method. It may be handy for Rogero 4.30CFW ver. 2.00 users. Rogero is preparing a firmware version which will have it 'build-in' in /dev_flash so you won't need multiMAN and you can't break/delete it, since it will appear in [/app_home] when you boot the PS3 and will come preinstalled.

It comes with background running FTP server and /dev_blind mounted (for write access to /dev_flash).

FYI the Install Package Files includes a FTP server. Also supported for all custom firmware. So if you are running 3.55 Kmeaw you can use this tool.
