It looks as though Sony truly has its head in the clouds… cloud gaming that is.
It appears that all the rumors were indeed true. Sony has bought themselves Gaikai which is a Cloud Gaming giant for a hefty sum cash. Sony has reportedly dropped $380 Million to acquire Gaikai, but what we dont know is what they intend to do with it next. We know it will be PlayStation related but what could they be up to? Could this be the foundation of an arcade style gaming setup to remove the install from PSN games? Or maybe something better? Who knows but I can tell you this, I cant wait to find out. Have a read of Sony's press release below.

Guaranteed. They're not satisfied simply inconveniencing millions of customers with their DRM. They want to insure that that 1% that actually knows how to hack their consoles is incapable of doing so. All future software and games from Sony will be streamed to your console, not actually stored on your own hard drive or game disc. It's "display-only" from now on for Sony.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO O! Cloud is one of the greatest two-faced things man has invented. More and more things are moving away from actually having a copy of the game, and having it stored in the cloud. Just dumb. What happens if/when the server goes down? hundreds of people won't be able to play. Sounds like a great plan.
