The XMB Is Coming To The PS Vita CEF

Submitted by HolmesInFive; January 07, 2013

While Total_Noob will be busy with IRL things, he himself along with another trusted PS Vita developer (who he is currently searching for) are looking to port the PSP's XMB to the PS Vita's CEF.  The XMB will make CEF a whole lot easier to use, with something so familiar to all of us.

This is still a work in progress, however the idea behind this is to copy certain elements of the PSP's 6.60 firmware, reverse engineer them and eventually work them to run properly on the PSP emulator inside the Vita.  The project is on the "to do" list, but obviously the sooner it gets here, the more we get to ideally enjoy two portable consoles in one.

Thoughts on such an ambitious CEF hack?  I personally can't wait to see something so awesome hit the scene, as I really like the layout of the XMB.  Leave your opinions below in the comments.

I have always liked the old XMB more than Vita's UI, would be nice to see it again...outside of my PSP that is :)

i hate the vita some times (all the god damn time) the vita is missing elements to begin with like a way to skip music tracks without having to touch the god damn screen (if there is a way i have not read the way yet)
