The PS Vita scene has had news recently that it wont be getting support from many 3rd party publishers, however Sony will still be sticking with its current retail price.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studio boss Shuhei Yoshida was asked if there would be any chance of a PS Vita price drop in 2012. The worldwide boss bluntly replied by saying No. Its Too Early. Regardless of this, Yoshida did mention during his interview that Sony's engineering team are working on a price reduction for the future but as it stands, Yoshida believes it is still too early especially considering the next generation handheld was only released outside of Japan earlier this year.
There is some hope for the near future for though, as those of you hoping to save digging too deep into your pockets for the PS Vita will be pleased to hear that Yoshida admitted that Sony are attempting to help with the value of the Vita by releasing the handheld in well priced bundles. Yet this is nothing out of the norm and unfortunately we cant expect any major price cuts until the beginning of 2013 at the earliest.

The price is already cheap, it needs rpg games.

I agree that it's still too early, but they should make a price drop next year

I agree with Sony on this issue, the Vita hasnt even been out a full year yet...no reason to drop the price! Besides its not the price of the console that is stopping sales, its the lack of games to choose from. Once some of the better games come out later this year or early next year it will drive up the sales a lot!
And imho i think the Vita is worth its current price, I got my Vita on launch day here in Australia! I do wish they would hurry the fook up withy firmware 1.80 though so i can start playing some PS1 classics. Been DYING to play Resident Evil - Director's Cut again -_-!
