Golden Abyss, Vita's Golden Boy?

Submitted by UnashamedVandal; February 20, 2012

Naughty Dog reached fame much earlier on before Uncharted hit the scene, Crash Bandicoot begun its rise to fame in the mid to late 90s however over recent years Uncharted has taken Naughty Dogs top game and it deserves it. Since the release of Drakes Fortune, Uncharted stole its way into my top 5 games of all time and just to make it better; (sorry Xbox 360 fans) its a PlayStation exclusive ;). The point of this article though is that Uncharted made its appearance on Sonys new handheld, the PS Vita. Golden Abyss showed true quality on the Vita and SCE Bend/Naughty Dog (developed by SCE and overseen by Naughty Dog) did brilliantly to design the game up to pretty much home console standard. This is why I believe that this game was a great early success and deserves the crown of best Vita launch title. Golden Abyss showed early on what the Vita is capable of, and although I do believe the Vita is missing a main focused selling point, the range of titles available might help it explode in the western world. As far as Im concerned, if developers put the time and effort into the Vita to create full engaging titles like this, rather than some of the drool that we saw on the PSP than I might be eating my words. What do you guys think? Is the Vita a handheld that can give home consoles a run for their money or will it be forever limited to just the handheld world? Leave your comments and let me know your thoughts.

I definately agree with you on all aspects. Uncharted is the best launch title for the vita and quite possibly of launch titles. and as for the vita giving the home consoles a run for their money, it can as long as developers make games that are console orient and stay awayt from stupid handheld quality like on the idevices and the psp. man i'm upset with the lack of quality for the psp games. anyways i'm hoping developers aren't going to look for a quick buck and actually create more games like uncharted for the vita.

i may be rushing things, but... well, i'm gonna quote wikipedia for this one:

Developer(s) SCE Bend Studio(overseen by Naughty Dog)

so, as you see, naughty dog did not develop this game.

Yeah completely true. The Vita's competition against the home consoles will be down to the quality of the titles the developers produce, let's just hope they can keep up the effort as SCE Bend/Naughty Dog did with Golden Abyss.

Thanks for your comment dude.
