The PS Vita has got a considerable amount of features that make this console more highly sought after. One of the more unique features for this handsome handful of handheld is the capability of utilizing "Augmented Reality".
The PS Vita uses its front facing camera to recognize up to 6 AR Cards which must be placed within the general viscinity of the camera's view. The Vita then takes these cards, and turns it into a landscape that you can use in game.
Here is PlayStation's video on Augmented Reality:
For the Japanese launch of the PS Vita, the AR cards had to be purchased seperately. Thankfully for the "rest of the world" launch, 6 AR cards are bundled with the console. This allows you to take full advantage of the PS Vita and all it has to offer. There will also be codes inside the box, allowing you to redeem and download 3 AR based games to get things going.
A smart move by Sony for once, AR looks awesome (particularly for WipEout 2048, so keen for that game) and hopefully it gets used a bit in the big name games that come out.
