Vita SDK Updates to 0.99.11: A Response to UVLoader?

Yesterday we published a story about the location of a new user mode exploit found within the firmware code of the PS Vita. For all intents and purposes, it appears at least that a day has finally come why Sony's shiny new platform has been hacked. Coincidentally, (or not) a new update has rolled out to the official SDK this morning. Has the war between hackers and Sony begun in full force on the Vita? It's possible...

The announcement of UVLoader development beginning sent plenty of fans into a tizzy yesterday afternoon, because it meant that the odds are high that there are great things coming fir the Vita. As a follower of the PSP scene since its advent, User Mode hacks have provided users with Sony handhelds hours and hours of homebrew related enjoyment, that certainly will extend far beyond Neur0n's hit or miss functionality on VHBL. Not to cheapen a great developer's work in the least, but through the announcement of something like UVLoader, hackers had really found their hole this time.

Is it just sheer happenstance then that Sony has released a small update to their official Vita SDK today? In this new version numbered at 0.99.11, there aren't too many updates to speak of, but the one in particular tends to speak volumes. This update contains a supposed “minor bugfix update for application execution stability which all developers are advised to update to.“ What do you guys think? Is this a sign that yifanlu has actually tapped into something big or am I just getting worked up over nothing? If you want my opinion, I would say the true war has begun!
