Remember back in the old days of the PSP when all North America had was the black version but in Japan there was the option of getting a white one and people would have to import it if they wanted it in the US? Well here we go again.
Today Sony announced that they would be releasing a Crystal white version of the Vita in Japan next month. It will hit the shelves at a retail price of ¥29,980 ($375) for the Wi-Fi/3G model, and ¥24,980 ($313) for the Wi-Fi-only model. Sony not to be one to miss a chance to add a little more to the market is also going to be releasing matching accessories like earbuds, carrying pouch, ect.
Oh and thats not all!! Sony and SEGA have teamed up and will be releasing a limited number of special Miku-décor Vitas in a bundle with NEXT HATSUNE MIKU Project DIVA and will retail for of ¥39,980 ($500) for the Wi-Fi/3G model, and ¥34,980 ($438) for the Wi-Fi-only model.
Now I have to ask a very simple question. Why is it that Sony thinks that just because its white they can charge extra for for it? Right now I can go to Gamestop or EB games and get a Wi-Fi Vita for $249. This just seams like an attempt to take advantage of the market and release a system in an attempt to get more money… Im not convinced that I need a Crystal White Vita.

stupid of them to raise the price on a system that is NOT selling well in the first place, althoe a RED one would be a welcome addition to my collection!

Ooh, so now you can have a boring old white PSV that doesn't have any games on it. Gotcha.

Sony didn't raise the Vita's price, the white Vita costs the same as the black one in Japan that is ¥24,900, remember the messed prices convertions $249=249€=¥24,900?

Yeah. but for the price being charged for the Miku bundle, it's worth it since it comes with everything you need to get started.

True, but them charging $438 (WiFi only) and $500 (WiFi/3G, which is only really relevant to Japan) is well worth it in my book because it's got all you need to get started.
* White Special Edition [Hatsune Miku] PS Vita
* Power (AC) Adaptor with USB cable for PC sync etc
* 4GB PS Vita Memory Card
* A copy of Hatsune Miku Next Project Diva (given you'd order that bundle)
* A case? I think that was mentioned?
All that I listed above applies to the Miku bundle. That's what I feel is worth the money. If they're charging that same price for the white PS Vitas that aren't the Miku special edition, then yes that's sort of absurd. I agree with you on that. But I'm getting the Miku bundle, and I'mma be super excited when it gets here. :)

Now all they need to do is drop the price.

Rather have a Crystal clear one or a bbcs2 one.
