We're finally getting a look at the multiplayer details for Resistance: Burning Skies. It may not be the most innovative-looking stuff out there, but should be a blast.
In its single-player campaign, Resistance: Burning Skies takes a different tack than most FPSs by putting you in the boots of a firefighter caught up in the alien invastion. Sounds cool.
The multiplayer, however, looks like it just ignores that innovation and goes for the straight ahead FPS competitive multiplayer style. Which is all well and good as far as the Vita is concerned.
Burning Skies will feature 2v2 or 4v4 competitive online play and you'll have cross-party chat as well - which is probably a good idea to cut back on trash talking, considering you may come face-to-face with that guy you just insulted at the subway station or whatever in a worst-case scenario.
There will also be bonus XP and weapons for completing objectives and you'll be able to upgrade and customize your weapons as well. The game will come packed with six maps and there will also be leaderboards and various social features which you can access via 3G.
Resistance: Burning Skies will be out May 29th in North America, and on the 30th in Europe.
