Exclusive Features for Mortal Kombat on Vita Revealed

It was just confirmed a few days ago that Mortal Kombat would be coming to the PS Vita, and now we're getting some details on the exclusives it will have.

Mortal Kombat co-creator says that the team originally thought about going all out with the touchscreen controls, but ultimately opted not to. He said they wanted the game to be "as accessible as possible" and that you'll be able to use the touchscreen in ways that seem natural and intuitive.

For example, to execute an x-ray attack, you can touch your x-ray meter. To pull off a fatality, you can make the appropriate slashing motions  (he offers "away, away, up" as an example) to pull it off. Boon says this will make fatalities easier and more fun.

As far as modes go, Boon says that there will be an expanded Challenge Tower with 150 new Vita-exclusive challenges that will call heavily upon the Vita's handheld features.

Mortal Kombat for the Vita will be out this spring.
