Are you ready for this? Sony's PS Vita Outsold the Nintendo 3DS in Japan Last week!

Just wow. Talk about rising from the ashes.

The unthinkable has just happened. We have a New Pope! That's right ladies and gentlemen... oh, yeah.. and the PS Vita outsold the Nintendo 3DS.. Wait? What did I just type? That's right Sony fans, rejoice for Japan have finally caught up to speed on the epicness that is the PS Vita. With Sony slashing the price roughly a month ago now, the PS Vita's Japanese sales have skyrocketed.

The Vita outsold Nintendo's competitor (which is currently the number 1 selling "Console" worldwide at the moment) by 2,000 units. Sony shipped 63,582 units for the March 4 to March 10 period. This also comes fresh off the Monster Hunter 4 Vita rumors that Capcom sources have neither confirmed, nor have they denied anything.

But Sony's dominance in Japan this week was not over.  The PSP sold more units than Nintendo's 8th generation home console, the Wii U. Sony's Vita and PSP sales made up 82 percent of all hardware sales in Japan, with the PSP even outselling Nintendo's Wii U by almost double, 18k to 9.5k respectively.
