The Missing Puzzle Piece To Wololo's VHBL

Submitted by Demonchild; March 01, 2012

Earlier in the week, Wololo dropped a few words regarding the progress of all things homebrew on the Vita. Now, it's the end of the week and Wololo is taking today's alleged SEN maintenance as his cue to announce the game needed for Tek4's exploit.

Now with every bit of good news, there is bad news. Of course, Sony will eventually get off their arses and get around to patching the exploit when released, but there is something more. Us Americans are assed out as we have the shorter end of the stick, so to speak. In order to make use of VHBL via Tek4's exploit, you have to sign up for a European or Asian SEN account, which also extends to buying currency for that particular region and buying the game from that region's store. Since this isn't the PS3, you will have to sign into that account to use the game.

tl;dr version: Tthe US version of the game does not work for this exploit.

It's a major downside alright. Nonetheless, it's something. VHBL is working across the board up to firmware v1.61 and only has limited PSP homebrew support. It won't be available right away at the same time of this announcement thus giving you some time to get the game and to keep Sony at bay from patching the game.

And OH, the name of the game is Motorstorm Arctic Edge a.k.a. Motorstorm Raging Ice.

I am still wondering how much of the vitas power will be available to the homebre when run this way? As in will homebrew that struggled on the PSP be able to run better such as the Emulators for instance since I use my psp mainly for emulators and ps1 games. We know the N64 emulator needs some help in the Hardware department compared to the others.
