PS Vita Firmware 1.65 is Live and HBL...Not So Much

Submitted by tbag; April 03, 2012

As reported earlier Sony has released their latest Firmware v1.65.  With this release as always is a slew of unmentioned and minor updates to improve functionality but what else is burried in this update?  What they have done apparently is block Vita's HBL from working according to praed0r over at Wololo's site.  So if you're interested in updating remember what you will lose.  Listed below you will find a feature list for FW 1.65.

  • [Notification Alert] has been added to [Settings], allowing users to toggle alerts on and off.
  • [After 10 Minutes] has been added to time options under [Power Save Settings].
  • An Arrow icon will now display when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea.
  • Caps Lock is now supported in the On Screen Keyboard.
  • Addition of installation progress bar for downloaded games and DLC.
  • minis with a preset expiry date (i.e. those obtained via PlayStation Plus) now load correctly.
