PS Vita Update 1.80 Walkthrough

A few days ago I gave you guys a heads up on the coming release of PS Vita Firmware 1.80, and some of the features that are going to be packed into the new firmware.  Today Sony has released a video showcasing pretty much everything there is in 1.80, as well as a list of PS1 games for download.

The video can be seen here, and really doesn't leave me much to say other than the fact that the PS1 classics list is more than disappointing.  With only nine games available for download on day one of the OFW release, I'm sure a lot of people are going to be frustrated.

 

 

  • Arc The Lad
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • FINAL FANTASY VII
  • Hot Shots Golf 2
  • Jet Moto
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tomb Raider
  • Twisted Metal 2
  • Wild Arms

 

If anything about the PS1 classics puts you at ease, it will be that they are planning on adding to the list weekly.  While I seem to remember Sony saying something about there being hundreds of games available on release of 1.80, I'm guessing the gradual additions will be to prevent the PSN from being under stress with everyone downloading at once.

 

What's your opinion on 1.80?  I'm stoked for some of the features that are being packed into it, and can't wait to use the PS Vita as a PS3 controller!

I havent had a problem moving any of the ps1 games from my ps3 to the vita . Games that are not on the list posted here on this site

Update so all the ps1 games that I have on my ps3 are working on the vita .

I have one game that wont transfer and it is populous in the beginning

BAD NEWS 1.8 BLOCKS VHBL by changing the way content manager transfers files, you can NOT get the exploit in to your vita

That's probably why it took Sony so long to come out with the update. They probably have been testing the features out for a long time but wanted to make sure the exploits would be patched. Lol But also a sad day for homebrew.
