It's been a rather slow month for the Vita, so Sony decides its time for a new firmware. Being that it's slow, why not play with the options for the release. There's the option to make it mandatory or optional as well as the detailed changelog to go along with it. Unfortunately, Sony has made firmware 2.06 mandatory and got lazy when it came to writing out a changelog. All that has been provided is "System software stability during use of some features has been improved."
Of course, that's the usual line used when it comes to patching exploits such as those used to bring you the goodness of homebrew via the Vita Half Byte Loader and CEF projects. The good news here is that these exploits still work, so it's just an empty threat, so to speak. Anyways, you can download the latest firmware if you elect to upgrade, through the Network Update function or through CMA.
