How Soon Will You Get v1.65?

Submitted by Demonchild; April 02, 2012

There's a blog post on the PlayStation blog and there's Vita firmware written all over it. If v1.61 has kept you company all this time, make some room.

In the posted changelog, there's 4 additions to make the Vita experience better. Notification alerts will be able to be disabled (like its PS3 counterpart), a new "Power Save" timespan setting has been added, an arrow indicates when the Vita has new activities for you to do and you can now TYPE IN CAPS using CAPS LOCK!

Usually when Sony posts about imminent firmware, it usually drops at midnight that same day. Who knows, you may get it earlier than that. As always, do not update until it's deemed safe to do so. You don't want to lose the ability to play your favorite homebrews, right?

We'll keep you posted.

Nah I think I'll stick with vhbl for now, besides the added features in the update are useless now if they added youtube or ps1 support maybe I'd consider updating

Nothing in the update worth pissing on really...no point updating yet! 1.61 for me is here to stay!

I updated my PSVita to get the latest Motorstorm RC DLC, and there is no difference.  On a side-note, you can now transfer PSP games from your PS3 to PSVita even if they aren't in the PSNStore anymore (I transfered "Pursuit Force, Extreme Justice" that I got free on the PSN crash last year).
