It's been almost 4 months since the initial release of the PS Vita. A nice list of games at launch as well as some social apps partnered with the Vita's features made for an interactive and fun filled launch, but what of the Vita now?
Coming up to June 22nd (it was released February 22nd in Australia) the PS Vita seems to have run out of its stamina, with the current list of games available to the Vita most likely being exhausted for long term owners. Myself, I have played WipEout 2048, Ridge Racer, ModNation and most of my other games to the point of nearly being sick of them. Social network apps were cool at first, but are useless having a smart phone and a Wi-Fi only Vita. Resistance Burning Skies is probably the one thing that is keeping me interested in the handheld at this present time.
After my little rant, I look up from my keyboard to you, and ask you what your opinion is of the Vita, and how Sony is going with keeping you interested in their PS3/PSP love child.

I think th PS Vita is smart and very advanced compared to other consoles. But it is still missing something. I don't play mine as much anymore. I first got Rayman with it but it's a short game which didn't last me long. Then i also bought Dynasty Warriors which did last me a bit longer. But once i finished with that, i didn't feel like playing it at all. I think that the games currently out for the PS Vita didn't reach me out enough for me to buy them so i'm waiting for new games to come out. Now Gravity Rush and Metal Gear HD collection is coming out soon, i'm definitely going to buy them and spend much more time on the PS Vita, and also assasin's creed and black ops 2 is meant to be coming out for the system as well so i think that PS Vita is still improving and becoming more satisfactory overall, it's just taking it a while for it to be a console which i will use a lot

the only reason that's keeping me from selling this to someone else on ebay is the long term hope of the hacks. being a late psp owner and in love with the exploits and cool homebrew availible for it, I was happy with it long after it's "glory days" and still pick it up from time to time merely because it does things my vita can't right now. As any hacker, i can only hope that we as a group will be able to make more of sony's stupid limitions set in place and to something really amazing, say for instance getting access to the cameras and gyroscope and making homebrew compatible? or just psx games or psp backups that we can play anytime at least{from a umd dump of course!}

they can try to keep me interested by updating remote play, i want to play ps3 games on my handheld, they could come out with a SHOUTCAST player, like on psp, some more FPS games, A PRICE DROP, i need more people to play with, it would also be nice if ALL PSP games were playable on VITA, i wonder will i have to RE Purchase ANGRYBIRDS , TETRIS and CRASH BANDICOOT?
perhaps some BOARD GAME fun like RISK or AXIS and ALLIES, oh and the rest of the AR games that i have seen previews for that are no where to be found . and EVERYTHING needs to be MULITIPLAYER. maybe with GAMESHARING. a better USERMADE app store with things like ALARMCLOCK, step counter, a weather app.
also i have to wonder where the video out cable is, what is this top expansion slot for, why does official sony webpages can not be viewed because this device does NOT support flash
a headset with skip/back feature would be nice, blue tooth connectivity like my pspGO(use PS3 remote to controll pspGO) and it should be able to be used as a MEDIA SERVER,to view the stuff on PS3 without CM
oh ya and MOST IMPORTANT.... in CANADA where is the 3G/ GPS unit?, if u cant release a 3G in canada at least give us the GPS so my near is a little more accurate and maps can show mw where i am at

It's half the power of a ps3
The games come on a cheap little sD card instead Of a blu ray disc
The games graphics are half as good as a Ps3
So you would expect to pay about half the price for a vita and the games
Oh no, you can pick up a ps3 and or a ps3 game for less than a vita and or a game
So why would anyone want a vita
Jog on sony you greedy bastards
Rant over

This is great! Good to see you guys voicing your opinions.
Writing an article following on from this one today, but I'd have to agree with some of you, my Vita is almost becoming boring with the short list of games that are actually interesting, and AR sucks ass.

it is a good system with a lot of potential. there is a lot specs that follow the device that can make this thing do great things. it would and better remote play be awsome if the added more high end apps that are very simular to what you would find for android and apple. this would help buy time inbetween the release of of the major games and also add some more fetures. they made a great system and it is almost great ps1 games, apps, and better remote play capability. at least they are learning with make games only for the psv with uncharted assassins creed and call of duty black opps. one thing that i would love to see is mainstream games like boarderlands 2 because honestly i would like to take those gsmes with me. another thing that will help is multi tasking.

They should really open the remote play of the PS3 games. That's the one thing that's stopping the Vita & the PSP from teaming up with the PS3. Well, I only got a few games on the Vita and most of it are already finished.

I love my vita and I bring it everywhere I go... I played uncharted (A+ title), and rayman (to the point where I got almost all 5 "star" in every level, and would redo levels to do so... took me a while to beat it - another A+). Now I am on to Dungeon Hunter Aliance which isn't that bad but is taking me some time from doing all quest completion and Im about 60% through, and after that I have FIFA 12, Disgaea 3, want to pick up Gravity Rush, and not to mention Mortal Kombat, MvsC, and BlazBlue as time wasters. Plus I have Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions PSN...
with the psp game download option, and soon to be psone option, I don't think anyone should be bored of the system.
Even hacked, they can still play snes games etc.
I even stopped playing Super Mario Land 3D (for full 3 star completion on secret worlds) and haven't touched my 3DS since (and I have Tale of, Mario kart and Kid Icarus too), or even my DSXL which I have a TON of games still to play including all KH games... AND my over 30 psp games still yet to play from UMD...
All in all, Vita is awesome.... don't give up hope.
Oh and I've never used AR on Vita or DS so that doesn't matter.

i heard there releasing Jet Set Radio for the ps vita. theres no word on a release date as usual, but i can't wait. that and little big planet are the titles i'll be looking forward to.
additionally, why the hell aren't we able to download ps2 games from there store. the thing is able to handle playing ps3 games, so wouldn't it be logical to allow us to get all our ps2 titles on there?
i mean bloody hell with such a lack of support, they wonder why we get hacks!

The chairman responsable for leading sony away from gaming and focusing on product development kaz has been steped down to CEO which is one under or close to presidents of sony. Which still holds power to cast what they think sony should do for development of its company but with the crappy all votes or no votes on idea situation. This in turn has left an open postition for chairman and future direction in which sony will go. KAZ did a great job though since the issue with the server downage and hack account that happened two years back sony has lost hundreds of million and had to lose game developers to higher tighter network security. With the release of vita, some cool sony 3D HDTv and various other type of product they managed to save company at the cost of losing some respect of the playstation line due to its weak selective area. Now the draw back due to the cutage sony had to do on game developer line they are stuck with product and no where to go. So now will sony new future chairman give focus on where the true money is or will they play it safe again focus more on products tiill sony has its bank roll equaled out then gamble on buying back game developers and win back playstation reputation?
In either case vita will be hacked, its inevitable, just like the psp is hacked and the ps3 WAS hacked. In either case sony will lose more in vita gaming because once breashed thier is no stoping free information and free homebrew.
I believe sony should work more on products and more on ps3 gaming and let the vita be hacked like the psp. Eventually it will end up just like the psp go; Use-less and unliked. I can go on and give reason as to why i think the vita will be like the go but i am a lazy man and i choose not ramble on with un-necessary information at this point.
