tomtomdu80 Shows Off VHBL on Vita 2.02

 eCFW is certainly an important development in the PS Vita scene because it gets a lot of us into the expanding universe of PSP homebrew. With help from a few very special games and the system's onboard PSP emulator, the community has been able to achieve some pretty incredible things. It seems that as of right now, you can add the name tomtomdu80 to that list of important developers and discoveries. Thanks to a new user-mode exploit found in OFW version 2.02, you'll be able to get back into hacks while getting a taste of the latest official features.

It's no real secret that this proof video certainly looks a little bit dodgy, but we do have conformation that this exploit does indeed work and is backed by the power of VHBL. Prior to the scene being blown wide open by Total_Noob, VHBL was the best way to load content and it seems like this user mode option means that it will be making a comeback. Unfortunately however, this does not mean a new eCFW any time soon. With 2.02 not being the most feature-rich firmware out there, developers are keeping their lips tight about any kind of kernel options, so for right now you'll have to be happy with what we have. The good news is, it still means homebrew with plenty of compatibility. No real releases use the exploit yet, but you can bet we will update you when more news comes!
