At the dawn of the new year, the Vita scene was greeted with the surprise of getting a brand new hack for the PlayStation Vita firmware version 2.02 through Gameloft's UNO for PSP. On top of the usual gamesave work that allows us to gain control of the user mode, there was also mention of a modified Kexploit as well which allowed for access to the emulated kernel and of course eCFW.
Since then, the UNO hack has been one of the main ways that our community has dipped its feet into homebrew. Now however, you can take a lot at exactly the method that Frostegater used to make all of that goodness happen. However, it should be noted that obviously this source code isn't going to have a whole lot of use to the average end user. If you're the type of person though that works actively at trying to find new exploits to use, this might be a pretty solid way to start. As you probably already know, firmware 2.05 has squashed the current exploit for good, but seeing it in its current form just might help others to get it running on something newer. Add this one to the Vita hacker's tool chest!
