If you're a major developer in the app world, you may have heard of what are called "usage logs." These reports chart all of the devices that have used the early testing builds of your software, and usually there's nothing to special about them. In general, it's going to be a lot of the same "device iPhone 5,1 with iOS 6" showing up on the screen, but you can imagine the surprise of a developer when they first saw an iPhone 6,1 identifier show up. Not to mention, it was supposedly running a build of iOS 7.
To make things even just a little bit more convincing, the ip address of the device came straight from Apple headquarters in Cupertino too. Obviously its possible to spoof any number of these little names and numbers to whatever you like, but would anybody really go through such lengths just to yield such a small impact? Probably not.
While that may be some things we do know about the possibility of the next round in the iEcosystem. The rest is all kind of a mystery. many fans are excited because longtime company many Jony Ive will be heading up the development of the new firmware. Many have also speculated that this may be the end of all those cool paper and leather textures and effects you now see in iOS 6, but really that's a small change compared to what could be coming next. As for that new iPhone, we're all under the assumption that it could be the iPhone 5S, and it may launch as soon as June with the inclusion of NFC abilities. Only time will tell just how many of these speculatory statements are actually true.
