Is iTunes 11 Coming Soon?

Submitted by Christopher Groux; November 27, 2012

Since as far back as I can remember, iTunes has more or less been the exact same program. Sure we have seen the addition of small features like Genius and crossfades over the years, but have these features really and truly added that much to the listening experience? Certainly there's no denying they can be cool, but what about functionality? I've been looking at the same darn simple list view for almost a decade, and it might work well, but thankfully myself (and Apple) feel it's time for a big change.

iTunes 11 was originally supposed to launch sometime in October with a whole mess of new features including a massive performance overhaul, a mini player, simpler playlist creation, tighter iCloud integration, and many more small but crucial features. Still, that month has come and gone only to receive a push back to the month of November instead. The company has said that the delay is more or less to help create the best initial release possible, but with November nearing its end some of us have started to wonder if this month will actually prompt the release of the new media player. If Apple does indeed stick to their plan, odds are we could be seeing iTunes 11 in just a few short days. Hopefully all those Windows performance qualms can be fixed for then!

What are you mist excited about for iTunes 11? The mini player is a pretty solid start. My hope is that we can finally start to see a more zappy media player on Windows.
