Remember Apple Were Designing New Headphones?

Back in April, I wrote an article about a patent that Apple had put forward with a design that was supposed to be an 'all in one' unibody design. Recently some pictures and a video has surfaced showing exactly these redesigned headphones.

The patent said that the headphones would 'appear' to be a whole unit that couldn't be taken apart, by the use of 'ultrasonic welding'.

The first of these pictures displays what the new headphones will look like. Apple currently have two different kinds of earphones. 'Normal' Headphones and the more expensive and better quality 'in ear' headphones. This new design looks as though it will be incorporating a bit of each type.
Mac rumours translated the video which was first shown on the Vietnamese site Tinhte.ve.

 
"In my hands are the new earphones for the iPhone 5 that is about to come out – Apple’s next generation of iPod [sic]. These will replace the current earphones that are on the market. These are manufactured at Phax Co factory in Vietnam. They have the appearance of a horse’s head, not like earbuds. When they are worn, they have a much smaller profile. They have the appearance of a fully integrated, single unit – there’s no part that looks like it would come apart – not like earbuds; the integrated design is characteristic of Apple products. Here I have the old earphones for comparison. The new ones are much smaller; when they are worn, they do not hurt the way earbuds do.”

You may say that these headphones are fake, but it seems that a lot of work has gone into them AND they have the Apple quality mark thattells they were made in Vietnam. Apple have used aa Vietnamese maker for their headphones before.

The new heaphones are said to be shipped along with the iPhone to replace the current models of headphones. I really hope so, because they look comfortable. I've never really liked Apples headphones. I prefer their 'in ear' ones but the 'normal' ones in my opinion have a better sound quality. And i have small ears so these seem like the ones for me.
