Motorola has been hitting these patent cases with force lately. If they're not trying with Microsoft, it's with Apple. In the latest round of hearings, a judge from the International Trade Commission has ruled in Motorola's favor that Apple infringed on one of four patents. What does it mean for Apple?
Although Apple was found to only be infringing on one patent, it means quite a lot. If the ITC takes it to the next step, the case will go to Barrack Obama and an appeals court. If they rule that a ban is indeed called for, it'll mean the end of iPhone in the United States.
Who would want to get rid of the iPhone though? It's a popular phone and sure looks pretty being that it's on 3 of the big 4 carriers over here. I don't have an iPhone myself but I might pick one up if and when I make the move to Sprint. My message to the ITC, don't ban the iPhone... not yet. At the same time, it is karma for Apple suing Samsung over their Galaxy S and Tab designs. If a ban does go through, be prepared to hear it.
