Apple At Work on the A7?

Submitted by Christopher Groux; October 04, 2012

Job postings at Apple happen all the time. After all, they are one of the most profitable companies on the globe, so it's no secret that they are probably one of the few corporations that can actually afford to take on more staff in this economy. We have seen advertisements for pizza chefs and other seemingly useless jobs, but every once and a while something interesting comes along that catches our eye. According to some up to date posts, the California kids are looking for an “SoC Modelling Architect / Lead,” which  in layman's terms means someone to head up the production of their processors.

Obviously Apple as a company has always been looking toward the future of devices, so we imagine that a posting of this stature means something quite big. If you want to get a bit more speculative, it's possible a newly designed chip could find its way into the next iPad, but odds are we are probably looking at the early shavings of what might be the A7 on the next version of the iPhone. They certainly don't waste much time, but we'll just have to wait and see what  the future brings. Now we can all sit and pretend that that A6 just isn't fast enough.
