As I have said, the major issues are now addressed, so the big question is should you take the time to jailbreak your shiny Apple device. In my opinion it really depends on what you value the most about your system, and your general opinions about hacking. Most of you will probably be jailbreaking your iPhone's, so that means you're talking about a device you use everyday on a constant basis. Are you willing to deal with having that precious tech crash a little more often than normal for the sake of adding a bit of visual flair? Some people may not be, but if you're the type of person that likes to stick it to authority this might be a pretty easy and solid way to do that. It should also be noted that jailbreaking is in fact legal, so if you're worried about that, at the base level you won't be breaking any laws.

While in my opinion jailbreaking something new is more a matter of preference, I would highly suggest hacking if you've got a 4G touch or iPhone 3GS. Chances are, iOS 6 will probably be the last major firmware update you get, so it might be best to become familiar with hacks if you want to keep that older hardware feeling new. There will probably one or two more minor updates for you, but in general, hacks could be very important in your future for older devices.

All in all, I think if you can put up with the instability at times, jailbreaking is a really great option for most people. Still power users or folks that just don't care about GUI tweaks should probably think twice. It should be noted though that you can always revert back to regular iOS through a restore if you don't like jailbreaking after all.
